The Sunday Boot Camp
It’s important to add variety to your training. So as well as training on your own or with a trainer, you can take part in our Sunday Boot Camp sessions. You'll be working out with people of all ages and fitness levels who just want to improve their fitness and improve their health, whilst losing weight and having fun.
Each session will be an hour long. We'll start with a warm up which will last around 10 minutes and steadily raise your core temperature to get you ready for the main section of the workout.
Even though it may have been a while since you last exercised regularly, this session should be an good re-introduction to exercise. The main workout will be circuit based to start with. Everyone works for a set period of time before moving on to the next exercise. The benefit to the time based circuit is that everyone can work to the best of their own ability and we can accommodate different abilities and fitness levels within the session.
The circuits are designed to progressively improve the key components of physical fitness:
- cardiovascular fitness
- muscular strength
- muscular endurance
- flexibility
- motor fitness
The emphasis of the workouts vary as the weeks progress. Some weeks the work will be more cardio based whilst other could focus more on strength or agility, but over arching aim is to provide as well rounded a workout as possible.
Some exercises are performed on your own, others with a partner, or a team. Other activities will be team based and add an element of competition. I guess you may remember a lot of what we do from old school PE with exercises like burpees, squats and press ups. As well as bodyweight exercises, throughout the weeks, we'll also be working with some kit like speed ladders, mini hurdles, tyres, sandbags, stretch bands and heavy ropes.
The emphasis is always keeping the session fun and enjoyable; keeping it varied and interesting; so you push yourself a little bit harder than you would or could if you were training on your own but you are enjoying yourself at the same time.

We meet outside the Peterhouse Centre, 122 Forest Rise, Walthamstow and train in the forest nearby.
When?
The sessions start at 10am on every Sunday. Please aim to arrive by 9:50am in order to sort out admin and payment.
How much will it cost?
There are 2 payment options:
1. Pay as you Train
Each session costs £8. Please pay cash for individual sessions.
2. Block purchase
Buy 6 sessions for £36. That’s £6 per session. Sessions must be taken within 10 weeks of purchase. You can pay by cash or cheque.
Anything else?
Please bring a towel and a bottle of water. Also you will need to complete this Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire and bring it to your first session.
